Drip Irrigation Systems
Drip irrigation is the slow, precise application of water and nutrients directly to the plant root zone in a predetermined pattern. Also known as micro or trickle irrigation, drip irrigation helps maintain the root zone at ideal moisture level, encouraging the formation of deeper roots and more abundant foliage, at the same time saving water through reduced evaporation and runoff.
Unlike standard overhead watering, drip irrigation does not have a visual effect and does not affect the leaves or pedals of the plants. Roses, delicate flowers and many plants can develop water spots, funguses and other negative issues due to overhead watering. Proper sizing and cycle run times are extremely important to the apply the exact precipitation rate of water into the soil.
